Question about connecting iPhone to a printer?

Silly question but is there any way to connect my iphone 3gs to a printer and get what I need off of it? example: for my a and p class I can open an email from my professor to see slides from a presentation. the slides are saved under .pptx I can't get them off my computer. any way to print them?
