I don't have a case as yet, but I love that I have so many choices out there.  I believe the cases are needed to provide protection.  It's great for fashion, too.

LOVELY METALLIC GREEN & BLACK I FROGZ CASE, SO FAR VERY HAPPY WITH PROTECTION OFFERED, THE FEEL OF IT ( VERY SMOOTH ) & I THINK DOES THE IPHONE JUSTICE IN TERMS OF LOOKS & STYLE.
